Biography
Gregg Wallace is a successful vegetable grower who supplies many large restaurants in London with fresh produce from his farm. Born in Peckham, he started out as a London market trader on a vegetable stand in Covent Garden's vegetable market.
In 1989 he started George Allan's Greengrocers - a company that built up to an eventual turnover of £7.5 million and, as a result of his knowledge of the fruit and veg industry, he was invited to co-present Veg Talk on BBC Radio 4 in 1997.
In 2002 Gregg presented Saturday Kitchen and he is a contributor to BBC Good Food and Olive magazines, as well as running a direct mail-order service from his farm. He is a keen food historian, loves cooking for his kids and now runs his company from Secretts Farm in Surrey.
Along with John Torode, Gregg is co-presenter of the MasterChef series on BBC1.
